Why is MagicBrief shutting down?

When Canva acquired MagicBrief, the goal was always to bring the best of what we’d built into a product that could reach more teams at greater scale. The MagicBrief team spent the past year building Canva Grow - a new creative analytics and ad performance product inside Canva. With Canva Grow now live, MagicBrief will close on July 31, 2026.

When exactly does MagicBrief close?

July 31, 2026 at 8 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time). After that date and time, the platform will no longer be accessible.

Do I need to do anything right now?

Not immediately. You continue to have full access until 8 PM EST on July 31, 2026. We recommend exporting any analytics data you want to keep before then - see this page for for step-by-step instructions.

Will I be charged again?

No. Your billing was cancelled at the time of the shutdown announcement. You will not be charged again. Full access continues until July 31, 2026.

Am I entitled to a refund?

Billing has been stopped from the announcement date. If you believe you have been charged after that date, contact support@magicbrief.com and we will resolve it promptly.

What data do I have in MagicBrief, and what can I export?

MagicBrief has two areas where you may have stored information:

Insights Dashboard

Reports and analyses built from your connected ad accounts. These can be exported as CSV files from the Insights section at any time before July 31.

Inspire Dashboard

Publicly available ads saved for reference. These are third-party ad creatives, not user-created files. A bulk export option will not be available for Inspire collections.

How do I export my analytics data?

Follow these four steps to download your reports as a CSV:

  • Step 1: Open an existing Overview report, or set one up as usual. Important: Comparison reports and Co-pilot reports cannot be exported this way - you’ll need an Overview report.
  • Step 2: Hit the sync button in the top right to make sure your data is fully up to date.
  • Step 3: Switch your view to Bar Graph and scroll through to check everything looks right.
  • Step 4: Tap Download CSV - and you’re done.

We recommend exporting all reports before July 31, 2026. After that date, the platform will no longer be accessible and data cannot be recovered.

Does the shutdown affect my Meta or TikTok ad account data?

No. MagicBrief connects to your ad accounts but does not store your underlying ad data. Your campaign data, spend, and creative performance all remain in your ad platforms (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, etc.) and are completely unaffected. You can connect those accounts to any other analytics tool at any time.

Why can’t I export my Inspire collections?

Inspire collections may contain content that you did not create or that you do not own. For this reason, a bulk export option is not available. We recommend noting any brands, accounts, or ads you’ve found inspiring before July 31.

What happens to my data after July 31?

What ad platforms does Canva Grow support?

Canva Grow currently supports Meta and TikTok for both publishing and analytics. Additional platforms are on the roadmap.

Which Canva plan do I need to use Canva Grow?

Canva Grow is available to all Canva users, with different usage tiers across plans. Canva Business provides the highest usage limits and the best experience for teams coming from MagicBrief - which is why we’re offering MagicBrief customers 6 months free on that plan.

What is the offer?

As a MagicBrief customer, you are eligible for 6 months free on Canva Business. Canva Business includes the full Canva platform plus the highest usage tiers for Canva Grow.

How do I claim it?

Fill out this form at by June 31st, 2026. We’ll email you a unique promo code directly. One code per business domain.

How do I redeem my code?

  • Go to canva.com and sign in, or create a free account.
  • Click your account name in the top-right corner and select Billing & Teams.
  • Select Upgrade plan, then choose Canva Business.
  • On the checkout page, find the Promo code or Coupon code field.
  • Enter your code exactly as shown in your email and click Apply.
  • Complete checkout - your 6 months will be applied immediately. No charge will be made during the promotional period.

Is there a deadline to redeem?

Yes. All promo codes must be redeemed by September 30, 2026. Codes not redeemed by that date will be void.

Can multiple people on my team use the same code?

No. Each code is valid for one redemption per business domain and cannot be split across multiple users or accounts. If multiple people from your organisation submit the form, only one code will be valid per domain.

What happens after the 6 months?

Your plan will revert to the free Canva tier unless you choose to continue with a paid plan. Canva will notify you before the period ends.
